Late like Summer

LATE LIKE SUMMER

You told me “Meet me where you belong”
I didn’t know where it was
We went to so many places
And now we’re back in here

The sun is burning our arms and eyes
Quietly bare on the sands
We’re listening to its breath song
To its fire and to its flies
To its fire and to its flies
Breathing in the morning sun
Screaming in the morning sun
In the morning sands

We are late like this summer
To get where we belong
We’ve found everything we will leave behind
And now we’re found by the summer sands

The sun is burning our voices
Loudly naked in the morning sands
Can we hear that relentless song

Back to the fire and to its flies
To the fire and to its flies
Breathing in the morning sands
Screaming in the morning sands

The Final Word

THE FINAL WORD

The sun looks wet and blue

For birds like me and you

From now on only birds

From now on only me

Mindless, broke, sweaty, free

The last few months are crashing

Into all we hoped to be

It’s about time we changed the gear

More than this or that, you see

It’s about time we turned the page

Just waiting for the final word

Keep the River Running

KEEP THE RIVER RUNNING

They’re cold and lazy-eyed,
You know they never fight
And yet you see the anger
In their eyes

They sigh, look at the sky
Then hug each other, right
And all you get to say is simply “Hi”

A strange girl with a bunch of flowers
Giving one to every stranger
She stares into their eyes
This time it’s real

But you don’t say “Hi”
You say “Goodbye”
Cause all you get to say is just “Goodbye”

I don’t do it out of spite,
I just look at all the sides
But please, just be yourself and keep your light
If I have to, I will be
What I know I have to be
But for now just keep the river running free

Try to say “goodbye”, try to say “Hi”
try to say “goodbye”, try to say “Hi”
Even if you try, you say “Goodbye”
then you say “Hi”, then you say “Goodbye”
then watch the sky

The Village

THE VILLAGE

In a tiny village
Miles of humdrum lowlands
A dozen needy farmers
Live a life of gloomy feelings
They just hope the day will end soon
A day without much trouble
In the winter they want summer
In the summer they want winter

And no one dared
To sing the song
That buzzes in their heads

In their own village
On their own
On their own planet
On their own

We cannot afford to celebrate our lives
We’ll start to really live only when we’re no more here

In a snowy sullen day
When everyone is sleeping
Some fellows got fed up
With the pointless endless silence
They took out all their goodies
And the wine they kept for rainy days
They perched at the central square
Left a gift on every doorstep

And then they sang
The song
The song was loud

Lucky

LUCKY

I think I was lucky
I won the greatest prize
I now own so many precious things

I can do anything I want
I can go anywhere I want
But I don’t feel like doing this at all

Directions flashing through my mind
The feelings I’ve been longing for
Calling me

And coming ahead
Filling my head
Coming ahead
Shaking my hand

If you can’t get above the facts,
There’s no use in being anywhere
If you can’t see through things
Luck is just another circumstance

Green lights are flashing through my mind
The feelings I’ve been longing for
Calling me

I don’t know if I should do this
They are so close, they are so empty
These are unreal desires
You’d say I’m getting older
But I’ve always been older
I don’t know
